Advocating for adoptees

Adoptees For Justice works to repair the issue of adoptees without citizenship through a variety of avenues.

Adoptees For Justice works to introduce and pass inclusive legislation that would close the CCA’s loophole and secure citizenship for all intercountry adoptees.

federal legislation

A4J hosts regular community meetings for adoptees to share space, learn, and build relationships with each other. Through education, conversation, and direct action, A4J organizes adoptees to take action on issues impacting our community -- starting with citizenship.

Community Organizing

To raise awareness and build support, A4J pursues local and state resolutions that do not change law but voice a locale’s support for the legislation.

Building National Support

Adoptees For Justice helps connect adoptees to resources like legal counsel.

Mutual Aid and Community Support

Adoptees For Justice raises funds to support adoptees without citizenship. These funds help adoptees cover costs of legal counsel and fees, housing, utilities, and medical expenses.

A4J hosts a free monthly support group led by a certified mental health practitioner for adoptees without citizenship. This virtual space allows adoptees to connect across borders and experiences.  .
